veterans en UO Veterans Help Remodel Eugene Home <p>A group of about 20 University of Oregon veterans volunteered their time and construction skills Saturday to help with a Veterans Housing project in Eugene.</p><p>The Veterans Housing Project is a collaborative effort comprised of organizations and volunteers to help military men and women transition back into the community after deployment. Saturday's project, located on Jefferson Street, included building a deck and landscaping work. The parade honors all who served in the Armed Services. KLCC's Tiffany Eckert was along the parade route Sunday afternoon and has this report.</p><p>As the parade begins, on-lookers line the streets waving small American flags. Eugene Highlander bagpipe band marches behind the color guard. (bagpipes playing) Excited kids stand at the ready to catch the candy that flies from parade floats.
