Front Porch Revue
A live radio broadcast featuring music, spoken word and comedy with the emphasis on music!
The Front Porch Revue is an extension of the Sunday afternoon program Front Porch. Dan Plaster hosts an old style radio show broadcast LIVE with an edited rebroadcast usually to follow. The Front Porch Revue showcases local and regional talent, bringing together the past and present in a celebration of Americana!
The program debuted in November of 2008 with a small crew, the Porch Band, Dan Bilderback, Rich Spence and Scoop McGuire, along with Corrina Bilderback, Virginia Cohen and a band of intrepid engineers.
Now in its fifth season on KLCC, the Front Porch Revue has an ever expanding ensemble cast. The Revue Crew currently features Rich on mandolin, guitar, harmonica and vocals, Scoop on Bass, Jon Neher on steel, Dobro, sax and vocals, Linda Danielson on fiddle, Sharon Rogers on accordion, guitar and vocals, Jim Dotson on banjo, guitar and vocals, Sean Brennan on percussion, the Twins, Kris Crowley & Kathy Burleson w/ guitar, fiddles and vocals and our newest member, Maurya Kaarhus joining us w/ her accordion, guitar and sweet vocals. The crew is rounded out by stalwart engineers, Ed Weston, Buck Mueller, Doug Anders, Jane Sinclair, Dale Etherton and Spence Hollinger with support coming from KLCC alumni Pete LaVelle.
The Front Porch Revue explores the huge pool of talent in our area, as broad and varied as KLCC’s vast listening area. From popular local dance bands to the more reclusive Porch pickers, we’ll bring you the best in regional musicians as well as touring artists visiting from afar.
With the help of these guests, the Revue Crew will take you on an eclectic tour through the American Songbook, past to present, and look to the future as we present new, original music with a Northwest twist!
Poems, drama and skits add to the variety and expand our exploration of American music, history and culture. Fred Crafts' Radio Redux will join us again and the 2113 season brings new collaboration w/ the Radio Americana Players! Join us LIVE from KLCC's SELCO Performance Hall, Sundays 3:30-5:00pm.
