Corvallis Seeks Feedback On How To Grow

City of Corvallis

The City of Corvallis is seeking public input in how it should grow in the future.  Thursday (11/30) is the deadline for an online surveyon land use policies.

Jason Yaich is Planning Division Manager for the City of Corvallis. He says the city is compact, leaving farmland and forest land outside of town intact.
“That’s kind of the Oregon land-use use planning story in general.” Yaich says,  “We have, looking forward 20 years, this question is still very important. What way does our community want to grow? Does it want to grow up or out or a combination thereof. That’s what this survey is really intended to start to answer.”
Corvallis, with a population of 58,240 people, is expected to grow by 10,000 in the next 20 years. Yaich says the city already has a low vacancy rate and there’s not enough housing to accommodate growth.
