After Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday comes "Giving Tuesday". Charitable organizations are encouraging Oregonians to be generous Tuesday.
Jerrica Becken is president of the University Of Oregon Association Of Fundraising Professionals. Each year the group chooses a local non-profit to help with fundraising. This year they're working with Reality Kitchen in Eugene, which offers job skills training for people with developmental disabilities. With so many different causes vying for people's financial support, Becken advises to give based on what you care about.
Becken: "It really comes down to what you're passionate about. I personally am really passionate about reality kitchen because I grew up working with people who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities. It's difficult because there are so many worthy causes out there and there are so many organizations in our community that deserve to have our support."
Becken says their work with Reality Kitchen will continue throughout the academic year.
