Wintry weather will continue to hit the southern Willamette Valley through the rest of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologist Matthew Cullen says today's freezing rain will turn to rain as temps climb across the region.
"Ultimately though, we'll be coming back with some more cold air through the lower atmosphere," Cullen tells KLCC. "We may see ice accumulations of anywhere from 1/10 to 2/10ths of an inch...then we'll have some rainfall, and then probably late this evening into the overnight period is when we'll go back to snow. A couple inches possible."
Cullen adds the weather turns dry but colder on Friday, with a predicted low of 22 for Eugene, and 19 on Saturday.
Drivers are advised to check on road conditions before they head out, if they must travel. And taking things slow will help prevent accidents.
