Evacuation advisories for the upper McKenzie River area have been lifted and are no longer in effect.
This includes Camp Melakwa and Foley Hot Springs. This collaborative decision between the Willamette National Forest, fire officials, and law enforcement officials is the result of recent cooler temperatures, increased humidity, and decreased fire activity in the area.
This change in evacuation advisories does not impact forest area closures and road closures. Residents and visitors are encouraged to check the Willamette National Forest websitefor forest closures and Tripcheck for road closures.
The Lane County Sheriff’s office will continue to keep the public inquiry line open for the remainder of the day (Monday) to assist the public with any questions regarding this recent downgrade in advisories. That number is 541-682-3977.
