Freezing Temps Prompt Egan Warming Centers To Open Through Saturday Night

Egan Warming Center

The Egan Warming Centers will activate tonight through Saturday.  They are now on standby for Sunday through Monday.  They are desperately in need of trained volunteers for many shifts at most sites for Friday through Monday.

If you are not already scheduled and are a trained Egan volunteer, you are asked to please check in by clicking on one of the links on the Egan website.  St Mary's will not activate tonight.

The following sites will be activated Thursday 11/26/15:

Central Lutheran 19th & Potter, Eugene (pets allowed) New Site

Central Presbyterian 15th & Ferry, Eugene (main Downtown site this year, pets allowed)

First Christian Church 11th & Oak, Eugene (elderly, & mobility challenged only, pets allowed, limited to 30 guests)

Valley Covenant (18th & Bailey Hill, no pets)

Resurrection Episcopal Church 3925 Hilyard (no pets)
Trinity(Maxwell Road, Eugene, no pets)
Ebbert (6th & C, Springfield pets allowed)
Youth Site (Olive between 13th & 14th, Eugene, 18 and under only, pets allowed)
Lane Community College Building 4, Room 104 (open to all in need, especially LCC students, faculty and staff)

NOTE:  They cannot shelter families at any of these sites.  Families with no other shelter options on nights Egan is activated can go to Catholic Community Services (Eugene: 1464 W 6th Ave 9am - 4:30pm) (Springfield: 1025 G Street 9am-4:30 pm) during business hours to inquire about alternate shelter on Egan nights.

As of 11/25/15, 19 families with a total of 37 minor children are being sheltered through the CCS Egan Nights program. Resources are strained. Volunteers and donations are needed.
