Fall Goal Reached in Record Time with Innovative Approach
Goal of $250,000 was reached at 10:30 am on October 6 !!
Thank you KLCC Listeners!!!
KLCC reached its Fall Fundraising Goal of $250,000 in the shortest amount of time in station history. A three week "Stealth Drive" brought in 90% of the goal, and a four hour Radiothon finished the job. The goal was reached at 10:30 a.m. on October 6.
The Stealth Drive emphasized no interruption of programming, with direct requests for donations taking place during natural breaks between programs. Email and US Mail requests were also sent to listeners during the three week Stealth Drive.
KLCC's previous fund drives involved up to 8 weeks of pre-Radiothon mail requests and 8 days of on-air Radiothon, which required segments of programming to be replaced with fundraising pitches. The Stealth Drive shortened this process to three weeks and almost succeeded in replacing the on-air portion altogether. KLCC listeners responded with enthusiasm! When Radiothon began the morning of October 6, only $9000 was left to raise. The goal was met in just over 4 hours.
KLCC relies on listeners and the local community for two-thirds of its operating budget. Listener support is essential to bringing NPR and KLCC's award winning programming to the KLCC audience. Over 2500 listeners contributed to KLCC during the Stealth Drive and the mini Radiothon.
KLCC serves over 80,000 listeners each week throughout western and central Oregon, providing thoughtful news and enlightened entertainment from NPR, KLCC, and other sources. KLCC is appreciative and grateful to the listening community for responding to this new, innovative approach to fundraising.
