Lane County Surpasses Veteran Housing Goal

Jan 28, 2016

More than a year ago, several government agencies and non-profits in Lane County set a goal to house one veteran for every day of the year in 2015.

On Wednesday the partners came together to announce they didn't just meet the goal – they surpassed it. Here's Lane County spokeswoman Devon Ashbridge:

“They managed to house and keep housed 404 veterans in our community in 2015.”

Ashbridge says while they are celebrating the accomplishment of housing 404 veterans last year, there's still more work to be done to end homelessness. Partners included the county, Cities of Eugene and Springfield, St. Vincent de Paul, Community Supported shelters and others.
