Oregon Ducks rout Oregon State Beavers in 121st Civil War

The University of Oregon football team hosted rival Oregon State University on Saturday at Autzen stadium in the 121st Civil War football game. New records were set as the Ducks blasted the Beavers with a final score of 69 - 10.

Oregon’s Royce Freeman set a new Pac-12 record for career rushing touchdowns and ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Freeman now has 60 touchdowns for the season which surpasses Oregon State’s Ken Simonton who ran for 59 touchdowns between 1998-2001. Oregon senior Aidan Schneider kicked a 31-yard field goal early in the game, setting the school record for field goals with 50.

Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, a true Sophomore in his second year out of Sheldon High School in Eugene, took the field in his second game back after suffering a broken collarbone and missing five games. He threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns. Herbert also rushed for a touchdown in the game.

Darell Garretson threw for 112 yards and a touchdown for the Beavers before he was injured in the third quarter and was replaced by Mason Moran.

Oregon now awaits a bowl selection, while Oregon State's season is over. The Ducks are 7-5 while the Beavers ended their season with a 1-11 record.
