Oregon Gov. Kate Brown traveled to Washington, D.C., this week to lobby against the Republican health care bill designed to replace the Affordable Care Act.

Her action comes as a vote in the U.S. House has been delayed indefinitely while GOP leaders scramble to find enough votes in favor of the measure.

Brown said she met with Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price to describe the effect on Oregon if the bill is approved.

"In my meeting with Secretary Price, we agreed that we need at the state level some flexibility,” Brown said. “But I wanted to share with him that flexibility is useless without the resources."

Brown spoke on a conference call with reporters Thursday. Her office has said that as many as 465,000 Oregonians would lose health coverage under the Republican plan.
