Gov. Kate Brown decried possible efforts from Oregon’s members of the Service Employee International Union to stall the state’s proposed transportation package during a meeting with reporters Thursday.

The $8 billion transportation bill is currently under consideration in the Oregon Legislature.

“What I would say Is I do not support those tactics,” the governor said. “I think that the priorities that I outlined need to move forward without regard to connections to other issues.”

Brown’s comments came a day after some union leaders indicated that they may oppose the transportation spending plan if lawmakers do not pass changes in the state’s business tax structure this session.
