Oregon Governor Kate Brown will sign a set of bills Monday passed by the Legislature this session.

Most of the bills deal with employment. There’s a bill to create a statewide sick leave law that will give most workers up to 40 hours of sick time each year. Another establishes a state-run retirement savings program.

One bill, called “banning the box,” prevents employers from asking about criminal history in job applications. Interviews will still be fair game, but the idea is applicants will have a better shot at a job if they can explain themselves.

The final bill will establish Oregon’s first anti-profiling law. The state will now keep a database of complaints against police officers and require each department to adopt policies against profiling.

The bill signings are planned for Monday afternoon.
