There’s still time to turn in ballots for the Oregon primary election. Ballots are due at official county drop sites by 8 p.m. tonight. At the Lane County elections office, County Clerk Cheryl Betschart says by midday, there was a 45 percent turnout. She expects that to increase.
Betschart: “The drops sites are open until 8 o’clock and we have people coming steadily through our drop site here at Lane County Elections. And our driver teams are picking up at all of our drop site locations throughout the day. So we’re definitely seeing a nice voter response.”
Betschart says if people didn’t receive a ballot they can come to the county elections office to get one. She says it is too late to mail in your ballot. It must be dropped at an official county drop site by 8 p.m.
Tune in to KLCC for election results after 8 Tuesday evening during the Heartwood Hotel.
