Police Investigate 8th Armed Robbery in Eugene

Thursday morning, there was an armed robbery at Lil’s Lottery on River Road in Eugene.
This is the eighth in a series of armed thefts in Eugene in the last two weeks.

The police department says it cannot yet confirm that the robberies are related.
In response to the uptick, EPD and its partners have targeted deployments and officers designated for rapid response.
Captain Sherri Meisel says anyone who is a victim of a robbery should report it right away. She adds that past robberies have been reported late.

“And that really impacts our ability to respond quickly and get the information out to the patrols and it really affects our ability to capture a suspect in a timely fashion.”
EPD encourages residents to be more aware of their surroundings and to travel in groups or pairs.
