The National Weather Service said the region will be seeing its major first rain of the season this weekend. Meteorologist David Bishop said an atmospheric river is headed to the northwest.
It could bring in two to six inches of rain this weekend, with the most precipitation expected Saturday.
At this point, Bishop said there isn’t a concern for flooding but he advises travelers to be aware of conditions.
“Definitely keep an eye on things that are going around, pay attention to any watches or warnings that are posted and just be aware of where you’re going and what could possibly happen depending on where you’re going,” Bishop said.
Bishop said the National Weather Service and its partners are keeping an eye on the potential for flashfloods.
There is a risk of landslides in areas that were affected by recent fires.
