Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren rallied a crowd of Democratic Party faithful for Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley Monday. She spoke at the University of Oregon.
Warren was joined by Senator Jeff Merkley and Democratic Congressman Peter DeFazio on stage at the EMU ballroom. Warren has championed the values of working people. Before being elected to the senate she helped establish the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. She says Senator Merkley was one of the few early on who said he'd support her efforts.
Warren: "And that's when you know you got a partner you're willing to fight alongside. This is the partner I wanted to show up today to say, we got to get him back in the United States Senate."
Merkley is being challenged by Republican Monica Wehby of Portland. Wehby got a campaign boost last week with a visit from Senator John McCain. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren is described by supporters as a "rock star" and possible candidate for president.
