Springfield School District Superintendent Sue Rieke-Smith announced Monday she will leave her job at the end of the school year.
She’s taken the position of superintendent at the Tigard-Tualatin School District. During her time as superintendent, Springfield has seen a 5.4 percent increase in graduation rates and expanded the district’s STEM programs. A spokesman for the district says the school board will decide soon how to go forward in seeking a replacement for Rieke-Smith.
