In an all-staff email Friday, embattled Washington State Auditor Troy Kelley seemed to suggest he’s not planning to step down or even take a leave of absence.

The email began with the first-term Democrat acknowledging to his staff that this is a ‘difficult and unsettling time.’ He offered thanks for the words of encouragement he’s received and said, “I intend to use my actions to continue to show dedication to our Office and trust of the people of the State of Washington.”

Kelley has acknowledged that federal investigators have questions about his past business practices. Kelley’s home was searched by federal agents earlier this month and his office received a grand jury subpoena.

The feds have obtained other Kelley-related records from the state legislature, the state Department of Revenue and the Public Disclosure Commission.

Kelley has denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged with any crimes.
