A fire that started Sunday afternoon jumped lines around noon Monday and burned across Interstate 90 near George, Washington. The fire has grown to about 900 acres, but so far no structures have burned.

The fire was being mopped up Monday morning. But it then grew, fueled by the wind. About 200 firefighters came to the scene from across Washington.

A semi-trailer load of hay burned near the highway on Frontage Road. The driver had to disconnect and is safe. In the afternoon the state patrol closed I-90 between George and the Vantage bridge.
