The parents of Antonio Zambrano-Montes have filed a claim for damages with the City of Pasco, Washington, for $4.76 million.

Zambrano-Montes was shot in February by three Pasco police officers in a crowded intersection. The claim by his parents says their son was “executed” by Pasco police officers.

The parents’ lawyer references the massive police investigation into the shooting as evidence. The claim says Zambrano Montes suffered extreme fright, terror and pain before his death. It says, “In the final moments of his execution, Antonio did not represent a threat of grievous bodily harm to anyone.”

Officials from the City of Pasco had no comment.

In taped interviews officers said they did feel threatened right before they shot him.
