Riley Leaves OSU To Coach Nebraska

Oregon State's longtime football coach Mike Riley has accepted the head coaching job at the University of Nebraska.

Riley is taking over for Coach Bo Pelini, who was fired over the weekend.  Nebraska Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst announced Riley's hiring today. Steve Tannen is host of the daily sports radio show "Crunch Time" on 95.3 The Score in Eugene. He says Riley’s departure could affect recruiting.

Ducks Rout Beavers In 118th Civil War

The University of Oregon Ducks continued their winning streak against in-state rival Oregon State in the 118th Civil War game yesterday (Saturday). The Ducks routed the Beavers 47 to 19 in Corvallis.

The Ducks went into Reeser Stadium focused on finishing the regular season with a victory against their arch-rivals. The Beavers needed a win just to be bowl eligible. Quarterback Marcus Mariota put on a show throwing for 367 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 39 yards and two more scores. The Heisman candidate praised his teammates for the season they've shared.

Beavers Upset 6th Ranked Arizona State In Corvallis

The Oregon State Beavers upset number 6th ranked Arizona State 35 to 27 Saturday night in Corvallis. Quarterback Sean Mannion's 66-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter gave the Beavers the lead. With 1:38 left, Michael Doctor's 35-yard interception return for a score sealed win. The Beavers snapped a four-game losing streak, while the Sun Devils snapped a five-game winning streak. The loss to the slumping Beavers hurt A-S-U's shot at a second straight berth in the Pac-12 championship game.

Ducks Clinch Pac-12 North Title With Win, Beavers Lose 4th Straight

The University of Oregon Ducks clinched the Pac-12 North Saturday night with a 51-27 win over 17th ranked Utah Utes. Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw three touchdown passes and ran for another.

Beavs Still Can't Win In Los Angeles

The Oregon State Beavers struggled in its first serious test of the season, losing 35 to 10 against the University of Southern California Trojans Saturday night. The Beavs have now lost 54 straight games at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Quarterback Sean Mannion threw for 123 yards and two interceptions.

The University of Oregon Ducks had a bye this week. They face The Arizona Wildcats Thursday night at Autzen.

Ducks Roll South Dakota, Beaves Rally Against Portland State

The University of Oregon Ducks kicked off the 2014 football season at home Saturday against the South Dakota Coyotes.

Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns then ran for one more before sitting out the second half, leading the third-ranked Ducks to a 62-13 victory. The Ducks have won 10 straight home openers.

Mariota's 62-yard touchdown pass to Dwayne Stanford on Oregon's first series of the game gave him the Ducks' career record for touchdowns with 79, surpassing Joey Harrington.

Ducks Out, But Beavers Still Alive In NCAA Baseball Post-Season

Both Oregon and Oregon State’s baseball teams played in NCAA Regional tournaments this weekend.  
 

Because of Oregon State’s number 1 rank, the team hosted their post season regional.  But the home crowd couldn’t deliver a perfect weekend for the Beavs.  OSU won their opening game against North Dakota State, but then dropped their second to UC Irvine.  The Beavers came back and won their next two games against UNLV and UC Irvine.  

OSU’s Jeff Hendrix, a Corvallis native, went 4 for 4 in Sunday’s win.

OSU Fires Men's Basketball Coach Craig Robinson

OSU Men's Basketball Coach Craig Robinson has been relieved of his duties.

Oregon State University has fired Men's Head Basketball Coach Craig Robinson.  

Just two months ago OSU Athletic Director Bob de Carolis announced Robinson would remain in his position.  He addressed the recent change of heart at a press conference Monday afternoon.

Oregon Softball Makes History With #1 Ranking

Kailee Cuico was named PAC-12 Player of the Week after chalking seven RBIs in the Duck's second game win against UCLA.

The University of Oregon softball team hit a milestone this week.  For the first time in school history, they are the number one team in the country.

The top ranking comes after the Ducks won two in a three-game series against then-number-one UCLA.  After the final game Sunday, senior utility player Kailee Cuico told Oregon Sports Network the series showed what the team could do.

Ducks Down Beavers In PAC-12 Tournament Civil War Game

Before Wednesday night's PAC-12 Tournament game, the UO and OSU met twice in the regular season, splitting the series.

It was a Civil War battle Wednesday night in the first round of the PAC-12 Tournament.  The number Ducks played the Beavers in Las Vegas, and the U of O walked away with the victory. 

Oregon and Oregon State had already met twice this season, with each team chalking a win.  The Ducks entered the PAC-12 Tournament with momentum though, having won their previous seven games.
