County Seeks Public Input on Large Events

After outcry from neighbors of Buford Park and Mount Pisgah, Lane County has canceled large events at Emerald Meadows for 2015. Meanwhile it's gathering public input on how to manage such gatherings at County parks in the future.

Neighbors Object To Zoning Change Near Mt. Pisgah

Residents near Mount Pisgah are opposed to a plan by the City of Springfield to increase its Urban Growth Boundary. The group "No Industrial Pisgah" is meeting with two state lawmakers this week to find out if there's a way to prevent the UGB expansion.

Lane County Commissioners Cancel Large Events At Emerald Meadows Park

The Lane County Board of Commissioners has suspended large events at Emerald Meadows beginning in 2015.  Last summer, neighbors surrounding the park near Mt. Pisgah complained about noise and trash from the Kaleidoscope Music Festival.  A task force of neighbors and promoters agreed to mitigation for this summer’s events, but they could not settle on policies for subsequent years.Tuesday’s vote cancels previously contracted events in 2015, including the Dirty Dash and Faerieworlds.

Lane County Seeks To Change Event Rules

A three day music festival at Emerald Meadows near Eugene last summer was so loud it could be heard miles away. Neighbors of the venue at Mt. Pisgah have complained about the recent events there because of noise and traffic. Lane County is seeking input on new rules for outdoor events.
