Lane County Board Picks New Administrator

Steve Mokrohisky, Lane County's pick to be the new county administrator.

The Lane County Board of Commissioners has voted to hire Steve Mokrohisky as the new county administrator. Wednesday the board voted four to one to negotiate the final details of the job offer and contract. Sid Leiken voted against the measure.

Board chair Pat Farr says Mokrohisky brings a wealth of experience and skill to Lane County. He currently serves as Douglas County Manager in Nevada. The 36-year-old beat out four other finalists during interviews with the board.

Lane County Announces Finalists For County Administrator

On Tuesday, Lane County announced its five finalists for County Administrator.  The candidates will meet with County Commissioners on Wednesday evening at 6:30 at Harris Hall.

The candidates all come from city or county government backgrounds.  Only one is from Oregon.  The five candidates are:

Ronald Bates, City Manager for Pico Rivera, California

Christopher Jordan, City Manager for West Linn, Oregon

Jeffrey Mihelich, Assistant City Manager for Surprise, Arizona

Steve Mokrohisky, County Manager for Douglas County, Nevada

Former Lane Co. Commissioner Files Public Records Lawsuit

Attorney Daniel Stotter and former Lane Co. Commissioner Bill Fleenor announced a public records lawsuit against the county Monday, Jan. 13, 2014.

Former Lane County Commissioner Bill Fleenor filed a lawsuit against the county Monday to force the release of un-redacted public records. The records pertain to the investigation and firing of former County Administrator Liane Richardson.

Richardson was fired last year for converting earned leave into take home pay. Former Commissioner Fleenor filed a public records request last fall and received 27 heavily redacted pages. Fleenor's appeal was denied, so now he's filed a lawsuit seeking an injunction to get all records related to the Richardson investigation.
