About 9,000 Lane County OHP Patients Still Don't Have Primary Care Physician

Trillium Community Health Plan was expecting about 27,000 people to join the Oregon Health Plan over the course of two years. Instead, about 20,000 have signed up the past two months. This has put a strain on the health care infrastructure in Lane County, leaving about 9,000 OHP patients without a primary care physician. Trillium is taking steps to address the issues and build immediate and future health care capacity.

Oregon Health Plan No Longer Using Lottery System

The state is no longer using a lottery-system for enrollment in the Oregon Health Plan.

In Oregon, low-income adults used to have to get on a waiting list and enroll in a lottery-style drawing to get health insurance. But that's changed because of the federal Affordable Care Act.

Oregon is one of 26 states expanding its Medicaid program, called the Oregon Health Plan. This means up to 300-thousand more people are eligible for coverage. Erin Fair Taylor is with Care-Oregon.

70,000 Oregonians Enrolled in Expanded State Medicaid Program

Cover Oregon Executive Director Rocky King goes before lawmakers this week to explain why the website still isn't fully functional and the state still has not enrolled a single person in coverage under the federal Affordable Care Act.

Cover Oregon's Chief Communications Officer Amy FauverĀ  says there have been successes with the state's Medicaid enrollment-- The Oregon Health Plan. She spoke in a conference call with reporters Monday.
