State tax incentives for the film and television industry have cleared the Oregon House. 

The bill would extend tax breaks for six more years and benefit film and television producers who bring their projects to the state.  Executive Director of the Oregon Film & Television Tim Williams calls the incentives a powerful draw for this lucrative industry.

Oregon Examining Bill To Get Workers To Save More

Oregon lawmakers are considering legislation which would require workers who don't currently have a savings plan set up, to set aside money for retirement. House Bill 29-60 and Senate Bill-615 would create a Retirement Savings Board and a payroll deduction plan for workers in the State. Joyce DeMonnin says people are more likely to save money if it's deducted from their paychecks.

The Oregon Legislature must wrap up the current session no later than March 9. To get an update on what the Oregon House and Senate are still working on, KLCC's Angela Kellner spoke with our Salem Correspondent Chris Lehman.
