Pleasant Hill School Bus Goes Off The Road

A school bus filled with students from the Pleasant Hill School District went off the road Wednesday morning.

A school bus loaded with students from the Pleasant Hill School District went off the road Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported.

It happened on Highway 222 near Jasper Road, north of Pleasant Hill. Emergency responders were called to the scene at 7:44 a.m. They first checked on the students, ages 5-15 years old, to make sure there were no injuries.

Wait Until Friday For Too Close To Call Races In Lane County

Candidates for two seats on the Board of Lane County Commissioners and supporters of the Pleasant Hill school levy will be in limbo for a couple of days. The Lane County Elections office is sorting through the last ballots cast in the Primary Election. The office will not release an updated vote count until late Friday.

If you think your vote doesn’t count, think again. It's too close to call in the West Lane County Commissioners race. Unofficial results posted at midnight Tuesday show incumbent Jay Bozievich ahead of challenger Dawn Lesley by just 45 votes.

Pleasant Hill Residents to Vote on $17.9-million School Bond Measure

Entering Pleasant Hill from Eugene on Highway 58, drivers are greeted by a large banner hanging on the side of a parked van. It reads “No More Taxes! Vote No…Pleasant Hill School Bond.”  

Just down the road is another banner urging voters to approve the school bond measure. The community is split on the nearly $18-million dollar, 20-year bond to upgrade the elementary and high school.
