The site of last Friday's school shooting will remain closed this week. Marysville-Pilchuck High School has suspended classes, out of respect for the victims of the tragedy.  On Sunday, they allowed students and family members back into the school for the first time to meet with grief counselors. The chain link fence at the front gate of Marysville Pilchuk High school has become an unofficial gathering spot for those in grief.

A shooting incident at Oregon’s second largest high school Tuesday left two young people dead - a teenaged victim, and the shooter. Police have identified a 14-year-old freshman at Reynolds High School - Emilio Hoffman - as the victim.

Authorities say they have tentatively identified the shooter, but they weren’t confident enough to publicize details late Tuesday.  A teacher also sustained injuries that did not threaten his life.

When students first heard the shots at the Reynolds High School gymnasium, they thought they were firecrackers.

Officials say a lone shooter killed one student and injured a teacher at Reynolds High School this morning.  The shooter is also dead.

Troutdale Police Chief Scott Anderson said authorities have tentatively identified the gunman, but aren't ready yet to release the name.

Anderson: "I can tell you that the weapon used was a rifle. one teacher was injured, with non life-threatening injuries. The teacher was treated at the scene."

The man who carried out the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut apparently called Eugene radio station KWVA a year before the shooting to discuss the 2009 mauling of a Connecticut woman by a chimpanzee.

The caller, believed to be Adam Lanza, used the name Greg when he was on the air with John Zerzan, host of Anarchy Radio. The caller blames civilization for the chimp's attack.
