The Delgani String Quartet is a new ensemble, featuring Wyatt True and Jannie Wei on violin, Morgan O’Shaughnessy on viola, and Kelly Quesada on cello. Delgani will perform twice in upcoming days, including this Sunday, March 29th at the Secret Garden in Eugene in a benefit for the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, and in their official debut on April 7th at United Lutheran Church in Eugene. At the Secret Garden, they’ll be joined by Sharon Schuman as a guest on violin. They debuted in radio style in the SELCO Performance Hall of the KLCC studios.

The Willamette Valley’s musical community lost one of its most dedicated souls, when Jeff Eaton passed away from cancer in late January. He had three tenures with the Oregon Mozart Players, including two as executive director and one as general manager. As a cellist, he performed with the Eugene Symphony, the Eugene Opera and the Oregon Bach Festival, among others.

Chamber Music Amici brings an unusual multi-media presentation to the Jaqua Concert Hall in Eugene on Wednesday, June 11th and to a house concert in Cottage Grove on Thursday, June 12th. They’ll perform Dvorak’s American String Quartet, synchronized to slides from Looking Back: Lane County and the Lane Historical Society.  They'll also perform music from Gershwin and Mozart. Violinist and artistic director Sharon Schuman joins Eric Alan in the KLCC studios to share music and descriptions of the slides.

Sharon Schuman has just released a new book called Freedom and Dialogue in a Polarized World, which looks at our definitions of freedom and how they may contribute to divisions between us. She explores that both through literature and current topics. She speaks with Eric Alan, before a book signing at J. Michael’s Books in Eugene on Saturday, March 22nd.
