Two Syrian refugees arrived last night at the Eugene Airport. The women are mother and stepmother to a pair of brothers who already live here.

About one thousand people gathered Sunday at the Eugene Federal Building to protest President Donald Trump’s executive order banning refugees from entry into the United States.  this impromptu rally was one of many this weekend throughout the U.S.

There are 6 Syrian refugees in Oregon. One of them lives in Eugene. Ali Turki Ali came here in June. He’s learning English at Lane Community College.  Ali left his home country in March 2014.

About 75 University of Oregon students and community members held a rally and march Monday to support Syrian refugees.
