Vernon Adams threw for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns, and the University of Oregon became bowl eligible with a 44-28 victory over slumping California last night.

The wait is over! Oregon plays Ohio State tonight in the first ever national College Football Championship Game. Eugene area eateries are preparing for a big night.

What goes better with football than pizza? Pizza delivery drivers will be busy tonight.  Tim Hill is General Manager at Track Town Pizza. His crew was rolling out dough this morning in preparation. The restaurant near campus already has an order for 75 giant pizzas for a watch party on campus. Hill expects they'll make and deliver about 500 pizzas.

The number 3 ranked Oregon Ducks settled criticism Saturday about the teams toughness on defense, as they defeated 7th ranked Michigan State 46 to 27. Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns at Autzen. The Ducks rallied after being down 24 to 18 at halftime. Mariota's three touchdown passes in what was considered a premier nonconference matchup gave him 69 for his career, a new Oregon record. Freshman Royce Freeman finished with 89 yards rushing on 13 carries.

Eugene's reputation as "Track Town USA" was well earned Saturday. Both the women's and men's teams were crowned NCAA Indoor Champions. It was the men's first title since 2009. This was the women's fifth consecutive championship. They are only the second team to accomplish this.

Police will be on patrol when the Ducks and Beavers face off in the annual Civil War football game in Eugene Friday. The cops are trying to prevent people from drinking and driving.

Eugene Police Officer Ryan Stone says EPD is working with Springfield PD and Oregon State Police to saturate the roadways around Autzen. Stone says with the Thanksgiving holiday more people will be out.
